12:30 p.m. — Doors open at 12:15 p.m.
Bruce-Monroe Elementary School at Park View
3560 Warder Street NW

Following three shootings in eight days near Otis Place and Warder Street NW, ANC 1E and Park View residents will hold a community public safety meeting to identify the immediate and sustained action needed to make our neighborhood safer.

Residents will have an opportunity to describe the conditions they are experiencing, raise questions and concerns, and help identify specific steps to address both the immediate threat and the persistent public-safety problems surrounding the intersection.

Commissioners Brad Howard and Audra Grant, who represent parts of Park View, will facilitate the discussion. The primary purpose of the meeting is to hear directly from residents about their experiences, concerns, and the actions they believe are needed.

Officials from the Metropolitan Police Department, the Council, and District agencies have also been invited. Because the meeting was organized on very short notice in response to the recent shootings, we cannot guarantee that invited officials will be able to attend. Their participation is welcome, but the meeting will proceed as a resident-focused listening session regardless of agency attendance.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to help us plan for attendance and ensure the discussion reflects the questions and concerns that matter most to residents.

*Compliance:  Because the ANC 1E Chair determined that the recent concentration of gun violence constituted an emergency situation, shorter notice of this meeting is permitted by D.C. Official Code § 1-309.11(c)
