The ANC 1E Transportation and Public Space Committee works to improve mobility, pedestrian safety, and public access to shared spaces such as parks, sidewalks, and recreation centers. The committee also provides feedback on agency plans, community infrastructure, and street safety efforts aligned with the city’s Vision Zero goals.

Meeting Information
The Transportation & Public Space Committee meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. ET, unless otherwise noted. Meetings are open to the public, and all ANC 1E residents are encouraged to attend and participate—no committee membership is required. The Zoom link below is the same for each month’s meeting.

Committee Responsibilities
The Transportation and Public Space (TPS) Committee is responsible for the following:
- Identify appropriate issues in transportation, mobility, pedestrian safety, and public space management, including parks, sidewalks, and recreation areas;
- Recommend strategies to improve community safety in support of Vision Zero goals;
- Review and respond to proposed plans, legislation, and agency decisions that affect local transportation and public space;
- Engage with groups representing vulnerable road users to gather community input;
- Identify appropriate issues related to DDOT policies and actions;
- Draft resolutions for ANC 1E’s consideration;
- Coordinate public meetings and provide a sign-in sheet and meeting notes to ANC 1E within 30 days of any meeting held;
- Research and report findings with actionable recommendations to ANC 1E; and,
- Track and alert ANC 1E to relevant hearing dates and policy changes.
