ABOUT COMMISSIONER BRAD HOWARD
Brad Howard is serving his first term on ANC 1E, where he serves as secretary. He believes local government should be responsive, reliable, and results-driven, and he’s working to ensure Park View residents have their voices heard.
A longtime supporter of D.C. statehood, Brad has nearly 20 years of experience in public service, including roles in the Obama Administration, the U.S. House of Representatives, and New Orleans City Hall. He returned to Capitol Hill in April 2025 and currently serves as chief of staff to a Member of Congress. He previously held senior leadership roles with U.S. Reps. Stephanie Murphy and Mike Ross and is the previous spokesperson for the Blue Dog Coalition in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Brad is also a former small business owner and has appeared frequently as a political commentator on national news networks including NewsNation, CNN, Fox News, and Bloomberg. He is a member of Foundry United Methodist Church and the ANC Rainbow Caucus and the Vacant Properties Caucus.
A Park View homeowner and proud Arkansan, Brad holds degrees from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., and American University, right here in Washington, D.C.

Residents expressed frustration over ongoing outages, prompting the Commission to take action, including filing complaints and adopting resolutions for further investigation.
